Therapy Session

In any psychotherapeutic relationship, the extent of change is driven by a client’s commitment to therapy and the desire to create a better life experience. The therapeutic process involves self-discovery, acceptance, and positive change. Rock’s pledge is to meet clients where they are to work toward acceptance of the present to then envision and create the desired future.

Individuals grappling with LGBTQ issues will find deeply personal counseling where life experience and expert training intersect. Those dealing with work-related challenges will find a rich well of business experience that informs the therapeutic exchange. This practice welcomes anyone who is wanting to develop greater self-acceptance and healthier responses to create a more authentic life.

In both individual and couple/family settings, Rock utilizes the therapeutic process to facilitate recognition of thought patterns that affect clients' emotions and lives. A family systems approach serves to build partnerships with and between clients, empowering them to create more fulfilling relationships.

The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approach is powerful for helping patients recognize and accept negative patterns while developing new skills that create positive change.

Rock has been a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group Leader since late 2016. Specializing in individual adult therapy, he has also taught DBT skills classes for young adults and parents.

Currently, Rock offers consultations by video conference on a platform that is free to install and protects patient privacy (meets HIPAA standards). As CDC guidelines and scientific recommendations change over time, in-office sessions in the Atlanta area can resume.
